Audience  feedback

“Rob Ellmore is a long-standing and valued member of the technical team here at Cheltenham Festivals. Rob is always on hand for advice and guidance in advance of the event, and provides a professional, efficient and friendly service on the ground. Working in a variety of spaces, Rob and his team ensure that they are prepared for every eventuality, and give our musicians and speakers skilled technical support. Rob is a great asset to any technical team and I would have no hesitation in recommending him. We look forward to continuing working with Rob and his team.”

Anna Jukes – Cheltenham Festivals

“Rob Ellmore was part of the original production team that put Bristol’s Jazz and Blues Festival on the city’s cultural map in 2013. He has been with us ever since. The Festival is based in Colston Hall that offers 3 very different concert stages with very demanding acoustical challenges. Rob has not only met those challenges and provided the variety of equipment expected by all musicians from international stars to local school bands, but achieves this with a careful eye on cost and sensitivity to audience response. Rob’s contribution and knowledge of sound engineering is an invaluable asset for our Festival.”

Colin Gorrie – Festival Producer – Bristol International Jazz and Blues Festival

“I have worked with Rob Ellmore for many years now and I have no hesitation in saying that he is one of the best in the business. However, don’t just ask me but ask many of the finest acoustic roots, world music and folk rock acts that he has looked after for me both from home and abroad over those years”

“Guiting music festival is run by a small group of volunteers that are passionate about bringing great classical , jazz, folk and blues music to the heart of the Cotswolds. We like to get it right and having worked along side Rob Ellmore for the past few years this is certainly an area we do not need to worry about , with an unflappable approach and wealth of knowledge its great to watch the whole event come together, i have witnessed on many occasions the great rapport Rob has with solo artists and bands alike, some artists even taking a keen interest in how such a great sound is achieved on a variety of more unconventional instruments and the balance that can be tricky to get right in a hall as well as our outdoor concerts.

Rob is a vital cog in the wheel and we all consider him part of the team”

Byron Daniels – Guiting Music Festival

“Rob and team feels like they’re part of the festival rather than simply outside contractors. They give professional support and ideas to help us manage the vagaries of our site and festival venues. Rob has been really involved in our planning every year and supports us in making the production the best it can be on our site and is always ready to make improvements and changes.
Our artists comment on how good their sound has been and how friendly and professional the sound crew are – this gives us happy, relaxed artists who can give their best performances as they feel they can trust the engineers. Occasionally we have guest engineers for a particular band, Rob manages this very well with a helpful and diplomatic manner that ensures the sound checks and performance runs smoothly. Often when a band hears that we have Rob’s team as engineers they decide not to bring their own engineer.
For me the engineers give us the ideal sound engineering for folk, world and acoustic style music – there seems to be nothing between the artists and the audience – the music is simply perfectly produced so the audience have no awareness of the amount of work and skill it has taken to produce this natural sound.
The team manage to balance all the issues we have with noise spill from our venues and keep the interference to a minimum. This comes from their good teamwork and ability to communicate with each other and from them listening to our views and responding to give us the best balance that can be achieved.

Small egos, big skills.”
